Her photographs document hundreds of American theater classics from 1939 through 1965 with a candid photographic style that brought warmth and humanity to the budding stars who would become legends. Sono Osato as Ivy Smith, aka "Miss Turnstiles" for the month of June, in the "Presentation of Miss Turnstiles" number with the reporters chorus surrounding. "Miss Turnstiles" was a woman chosen every month, "She's got to be beautiful, she's got to be just an average girl, and most important of all she's got to ride the subway"- a take on the real life "Miss Subways" famous New York subway advertisement campaigns.
