Her photographs document hundreds of American theater classics from 1939 through 1965 with a candid photographic style that brought warmth and humanity to the budding stars who would become legends. John Hewer as Tony wearing the uniform of a messenger boy and carrying his costume for the ball in a parcel box. He is stopped by the maid Hortense (Paulette Girard) on the steps of the terrace of the Cafe Pataplon, Act III. She wants him to come to the ball so that she may lure Polly there as well.
